Newcastle Seminar

21st June 2013, Newcastle Arts Centre

Northern Architecture have been involved in partnerships and projects looking at the built environment in relation to ageing since 2005 and recognised that in Tyne and Wear in particular there is a growing critical mass of academics and practitioners across design, technology, social science, health and housing leading research and practice in addressing the needs and implications of an ageing population. So, the end of the FLEX project gave us the opportunity not only to share some of the outcomes, findings and questions raised through our own research but to bring together a wider group and open the floor to other speakers and discuss common, emerging issues in relation to the roles of neighbourhoods, cohousing, extra care and technology in planning for wellbeing in later life.
